You've knit with the self-patterning sock yarn, but have you ever thought about making it? We'll provide the dye and yarn for one pair of socks and show you how it is done. Wear old clothes!

0201 Dye Play Day

Date, 2009: Sunday, February 22 from 9 am to 5 pm, one session

We provide the playground and all dyes, tools, and equipment. You provide the wool (or mohair, alpaca, silk, or other protein-based fiber) in the form of yarn or roving, top, or washed wool. We'll discuss colors, how they work together, and how acid dyes work. Please wear old clothes.

Required supplies and equipment: protein fibers for dyeing (yarn or roving, top, or washed wool). Wear old clothes.
