We like to think of ourselves as a candy store for spinners. I know when I first started spinning I wanted to try everything, and I’m not the only one who feels that way. That’s why we try to have enough of everything for you to figure out what you like and don’t like. Here’s a taste:
We stock all the colorways of Louet Northern Lights roving. With names like Teddy Bear, Grape Jelly and Fruit Punch, you can begin to imagine the array of colors. We have spun samples of most of the colorways on display, some plied on itself, some on other Northern Lights colorways and some on solids. This space-dyed 100% wool top is similar to a nice Corriedale.
In addition to commercial spinning fibers, we also buy fleeces locally, wash and dye them and have them carded at Stonehedge Fiber Mill in northern Michigan. Colors change from year to year, depending on the whim of the dyer. Ditto for breeds available. We regularly have Romney (from a spinner’s flock), Bond, Cormo, Corriedale, Blue Faced Leicester and other common and not-so-common breeds.
Also from our dye room comes these beautiful braids of handpainted wool and wool-blend top.
|A sumptuous fiber blend in seven beautiful random color ways. Made from 80% New Zealand merino and 20% silk the fine 22 micron merino and the lustre of the silk makes this a truly luxurious blend.
Create fine, lacy and lightweight yarn for knitting or unique semi-worsted yarns for weaving.
This is just a portion of our spinning fiber wall. On it you will find: llama, mohair, camel down and hair, qiviut, alpaca and other fibers and blends. It is very tempting!
