We are pleased to be a Certified Louet Dealer, one of only a handful in the country. To achieve this honor, we participated in a working retreat last spring at Jane Stafford’s studio on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. Jane taught us the ins-and-outs of each of the looms. She also demonstrated her common-sense warping method – the method we have adopted as standard at Heritage. Click here to view Jane’s warping video (scroll down a bit).
Dedicated to Creating New and Better Weavers
Heritage was originally begun because of the lack of local resources for weavers. We have been filling that niche since 2000, when we first opened. Over the years we have gained a lot of wisdom and become much better weavers ourselves. Most of the staff weaves in some fashion: everything from the rigid heddle loom all the way up to the Louet Octado computer loom on display in the front room. We have one whole room plus devoted to looms, yarns and tools. Come and be inspired!
We also enjoy mentoring young people. This is a photo of Becca with her handwoven coverlet. I think she was 14 (she’s nearing 20 now) when it came off the loom. She inspires the grownups!
