Day/Date/Time: Saturday, 2/22/2025 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This class meets once.

Description: Learn the Doodle way of knitting colorwork using the book The Doodle Knit Directory: 200 playful colorwork motifs for knitted accessories to make a hat using Dk or sport weight yarn. No previous colorwork experience required, but you must be able to knit, purl and be comfortable knitting in the round. Using the pattern in the book as a guide, you will be able to choose your own motifs and create a one-of-a-kind hat.

Required Supplies/Equipment/Books: The book The Doodle Knit Directory: 200 playful colorwork motifs, yarn in the colors of your choice, needles for knitting in the round (US Sizes #2, #3, #4, #5 and #6), stitch markers and your normal knitting kit. The book and the yarn are available in the store and in our web store. Recommended yarns include: Berroco Vintage DK (regular or baby), Malabrigo Dos Tierras, Ella Rae Eco Tweed, Kelbourne Scout, or Rauma Finull. If you don’t mind using smaller needles, you may also use the jumper weight Shetland wool for greater color choice.

Prerequisite: Must be able to knit, purl and knit in the round; wind yarn into balls.

Pre-Class Prep: Browse the book and note motifs that you might like to use in your hat.
