Description: Join us for a 9-month long exploration of different sheep breeds. We will spin samples from 9 different breeds of sheep, highlighting a different breed each month. Students will use their handspun samples to either knit or weave afghan squares to create a final project representing each breed presented in this series. We will be working with natural colored combed top for each breed sample. Classes meet monthly for 3- hour sessions.  Class time will be spent primarily spinning samples, creating a control card for each yarn, and planning for afghan square. If the student requires knitting or crochet help with their squares, Knitting and Crochet Help sessions are available at Heritage, and are listed on the shop calendar. A pin loom help class can also be arranged.

Required supplies/equipment/books:  Other supplies needed are a 3-ring binder for samples, index cards, and measurement tools, including a scale, ruler, WPI tool, and ply angle tool. (Instructor will bring tools to class to share, but it is helpful to have these for home use.) Optional: Knitting needles and crochet hooks in various sizes and/or a pin loom.

Class fee does not include 4oz. fiber samples, binder pages or handouts. A $30.00 materials fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of each session.
