"When I looked at my 'collection' of Fair Isle hat designs and compared it to the color wheel, I realized that I had no red hats. The challenge of working with red is that light shades of red turn pink and I didn't want pink. The subtle shading of the background avoids pink and results in a rich, wine colored cap. The design uses traditional Shetland motifs, but the use of the colors combined with the design make me think of a Russian princess. Hence, Anastasia." ~Joan
