You have your sock machine now what!? Starting from scratch, learn how to take your machine apart to clean, make all the correct adjustments, and how to start knitting on your machine without a cast on bonnet. Learn to adjust your machine to get the proper tension for the yarn you are using and the proper weight. Learn the best yarns to use. We will also discuss tools and how to use them.

Class project: making a cast-on bonnet. Skills learned include casting on, yarn management, proper tension, hung hem, picot, finishing and the parts of your machine.

Required Supplies/Equipment/Books:

  • Must have a working/functional machine. *If your machine is not working properly, schedule a CSM Clinic session here. *
  • Must have table, tools, buckle, and weights for your machine.
  • Must have 100 grams project yarn and waste yarn already wound on to a cone.
  • A clamp light is very helpful.

Prerequisite:
Some general knowledge of how the machine works is helpful but not necessary.

Pre-Class Prep:
Project yarn and waste yarn wound on a cone.
