“This hat was inspired by a friend’s photo that she took while kayaking on one of the feeder bays to the Chesapeake. It was a gorgeous late autumn day with a clear blue sky and the marshlands showing their gold colors. The crown sports kayak paddles and a five pointed star, perfect for the Chesapeake’s proximity to our nation’s capitol." ~Joan

Size:
Adult average. Adjust size by changing the needle size.

Yarn:
Fingering weight, sample made with Jamieson’s Spindrift (25 g, 115 yds/105 m). 
Six colors:
(A) 151 Titanic - 45 yds/ (41 m);
(B) 1390 Highland Mist - 60 yds (55 m);
(C) 768 Eggshell - 10 yds (9 m);
(D) 235 Grouse - 20 yds (18 m);
(E) 998 Autumn - 25 yds (23 m);
(F) 1160 Scotch Broom - 25 yds (23 m).

Needles and Notions:
US 1/2.25 mm and US 3/3.25 mm for circular knitting or size to achieve gauge. Stitch marker, tapestry needle.

Skills:
Knitting in the round, two-color stranded knitting, following a chart.
