Participants will learn how to turn a mitered corner from the button band to the neck band for a cardigan sweater. In addition, participants will learn to make two buttonholes that take in the complex nature of corrugated ribbing.
This event is a learning event with all proceeds donated to the Shetland Peerie Makker program that teaches youngsters in Shetland to knit. Led by volunteers, children learn during after school programs. Our donation helps keep this tradition alive in a very real way. Meanwhile, on this side of the ocean, we will be learning, too.
We have options for those that would like to learn to knit in the Fair Isle style, those that would like to step up their game knitting button bands and buttonholes for cardigans, and those who want to fine tune their understanding of color interaction. There will also be goodie bags for each participant, and even a few door prizes. 100% of your tuition/contribution is forwarded directly to Shetland to support the SPM program.

The standard class fee is $75.00, or you can choose to be a Super Peerie Makker Supporter for an additional $75.00, a total of $150.00.
