This tool has been in my mom's sewing machine drawer since I first gave it to her about 25 years ago. She swears by it for quilting, making corners pointy and drawing cord through casings. It wasn't until I was fixing a snag in a sweater that I realized what a great tool it is for knitters. Fixing the snag using the pointy, curved end of the Purple Thing made a quick job of retensioning the snag. Because it is flat, it gave me more control than a round knitting or darning needle. It can also be used to draw yarn through live stitches to hold them. It now has a permanent place in my knitting tool box -- do you need one in yours?
