Inspired by a trip the designer took to visit a Peruvian friend, this chullo is easy to knit because the patterning is created using slipped stitches. You are never knitting with more than one color in a row.
Sizes:
Child, adult (18.5, 22").
Yarn:
Worsted weight, samples made with Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd's Wool (115 g, 250 yds/229 m).
Six colors:
(A) Purple (Lilac) - 50 yds (45 m);
(B) Green (Mint) - 40 yds (36 m);
(C) Turquoise (Light Turquoise) - 40 yds (36 m);
(D) Red (Pink) - 40 yds (36 m);
(E) Navy (White) - 30 yds (27 m);
(F) Orange (Creamsicle) - 70 yds (64 m).
Needles and Notions:
Adult: US 8/5.0 mm for circular knitting or size to achieve gauge; crochet hook H-8/5.0 mm;
Child: US 6/4.0 mm for circular knitting or size to achieve gauge, crochet hook size F-5/4.0 mm.
Stitch marker, tapestry needle, waste yarn (smooth cotton), stitch holder.
