This event is a learning event with all proceeds donated to the Shetland Peerie Maker program that teaches youngsters in Shetland to knit. Led by volunteers, children learn at after school programs. Our donation helps keep this tradition alive in a very real way. Meanwhile, on this side of the ocean, we will be learning, too.
We have options for those that would like to learn to knit in the Fair Isle style, those that would like to step up their game knitting mittens (or gloves), and working the Betsy join as well as knitting a shawl center. There will also be goodie bags for each participant, and even a few door prizes.
Not feeling up to a class but don’t want to miss out on all the fun? Bring your Fair Isle knitting project and join the social table. No knitting help provided, but certainly those around the table will help each other.
